How to boost our Creativity?

Practice Mindfulness

Being present which means being here and now in this very moment can help you notice details you might otherwise miss. Mindfulness techniques like meditation or deep breathing can lower your stress, anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, but besides it calms your mind and thus makes space for creativity to emerge. True creativity can be born only in calmness and solitude. It’s all about being aware and open to the world around you.

Take a few moments each day to center yourself and see how it transforms your creative process.

How to boost our Creativity?

Follow Your Curiosity

If something attracts your attention and picks your interest, follow it. Curiosity can lead you to unexpected places and ideas. Whether it’s learning a new skill or exploring a hobby, let your interests guide you to new creative heights. Curiosity opens doors to new experiences and knowledge, fueling your creative process. Embrace your curiosity and see where it takes you. The journey itself can be just as rewarding as the destination. 🌟

You can cultivate and enhance your curiosity by asking questions about everything that surrounds you (“Why?”, “How?”, and “What if?”), read books in different genres, topics, and fields; surround yourself with curios people, stay open-minded, engage in new experiences and be ready for both negative and positive experiences, follow your passion, watch documentaries and educational videos, study all the time despite of age, and of course travel.

Curiosity is not just about seeking knowledge but also about finding joy in the process of discovery.

In summary, curiosity is fundamental to creativity as it drives exploration, fosters openness, enhances problem-solving, increases motivation, connects diverse fields, promotes adaptability, and reduces cognitive biases. By nurturing curiosity, individuals can significantly boost their creative potential.

How to boost our Creativity?

Rest and Recharge

Your brain needs to have a rest, as well as your body. Recharging your inner energy will bring you new ideas, refresh your mind, and make you stronger and even braver.

  • Make sure you get enough sleep.

  • Take breaks in between work.

  • Prioritize rest and self-care.

  • Eat healthy food.

  • Be courageous to tell NO.

  • Go for a walk and be closer to nature, it nourishes us and recharges our energy.

How to boost our Creativity?

Embrace Failure

Don’t be afraid of failures, they are not bad, they are the opposite. They are good as they change you and your life.

  • You learn from failures and we grow from them.

Every failure teaches us something new. This process of learning from mistakes is crucial for personal and professional growth.

  • You become resilient.

Failures strengthen us and make us more flexible, adaptable, and ready for difficult situations and challenges. Constantly fearing failure can lead to stress and anxiety. Accepting failure as a part of life reduces this stress, leading to better mental health and overall well-being.

  • You redefine and rethink success.

You begin to appreciate even small achievements and are happy with them. You change the perception of success from achieving great unrealistic results to making small steps toward your goal even if you do not reach it.

  • You develop your compassion and empathy.

You stop judging other people for making mistakes, and not achieving goals and results. You have empathy and understanding that sometimes it's not only challenging but also unrealistic. When you become more compassionate the community where you are begins to evolve and thrive.

  • You are more motivated.

If at first glance failures could demotivate us and frustrate us, at the deep core they foster our desire for improvement and change.

  • You become more curious and innovative.

So, failures ignite your creativity and force you to try new ideas and approaches. Failures are an integral part of the process of creativity, by making mistakes and experimenting we can create something new and innovative.

All these are important elements that can boost our creativity and reveal it from a very different side.

Embrace failures as your strength on the way to creativity and growth.

How to boost our Creativity?

Seek Diverse Inspiration

Creativity thrives when we experiment, when we dive into new experiences, when we gain new knowledge, and reveal new places, locations, techniques, cultures, countries, etc. When we limit ourselves to what we already know, we kill our creative potential. By seeking diverse inspiration, we can break free from these limitations and open our minds to a world of new possibilities.

If you are curious, and I have already written about it, you will find inspiration everywhere. But if don't train enough of your muscles for inspiration and you can not do it everywhere and in a daily routine, you need to shift your attention and try diverse unknown environments for you.

  • Dive into books, movies, art, and music from genres you wouldn't normally explore. If you usually read thrillers, try a historical novel or a collection of poetry. If you enjoy traditional art, delve into modern art.

  • If you do not go to theaters, museums, and galleries, do it.

  • If you prefer the cinema to the theater, go to the theater.

  • Engage with art and media from different cultures, and communicate with people whom you do not know.

  • If you never painted before, try it now.

  • If you never dance, go to a dance class. All forms of art and culture enrich, motivate, and inspire us.

  • Join a book club or any other club. Go to a culinary masterclass.

  • Try combining ideas from different fields to create something new and innovative. Try to combine those things that at first glance can not be combined. Mix mediums, channels, and techniques. Experiment.

Do not be afraid to try something new and unfamiliar, you are doing it not for a FaceBook post or Instagram reel, not for likes and approvals from others, you are doing it for yourself. The key is to train your inspiration muscles.

Remember, inspiration is everywhere, waiting to be discovered. Embrace the richness of diversity, and let it fuel your creativity.

How to boost our Creativity?

Embrace Playfulness

Playfulness is deeply connected with curiosity. Look at small children> They are curious, they are playful, and they experiment in the process of games, and that leads to creativity. In adulthood, we must also be playful and cherish our inner child. Without being playful and open to uncertainty, we can not fully boost our creativity. Creativity is all about imagination, experimentation, and being ready for the unknown, even desiring this unknown.

The ways you can reconnect with your inner child, your playful spirit:

  • Encouraging Experimentation

Playfulness encourages experimentation, while experimenting playfully, you do not think about risks, failures, or outcomes/results. You feel free. And this freedom to explore and make mistakes leads to discovering new possibilities and solutions.

  • Stimulating Imagination

Playing stimulates the imagination and allows us to think outside the box, to see new perspectives and possibilities even in old situations and challenges. Activities like doodling, storytelling, painting, improvising in music, or even studying playfully Artificial Intelligence can enhance our ability to visualize and create.

  • Breaking Rules, Barriers, and Old Patterns

Being children we are fearless, we do not see any limitations or barriers. When we become older we are literally saturated with fears, rules, barriers, limitations, and old patterns. All these keep us in a conditioned situation, in a "box" year after year and we are not free to create.

  • Fostering Social Connection

Playful environments foster collaboration and social interaction. When we play with others, we can create new forms, patterns, ideas, services, and products.

Our inner child represents the curiosity, wonder, and boundless imagination we had as children. By nurturing this aspect of ourselves, we create an environment where creativity can thrive.

How to boost our Creativity?

Collaborate with Others

We human beings were designed in such a way that we should communicate, collaborate, and cocreate. To be socialized this is our nature despite of that fact either you are an extrovert, or an introvert. Creativity often flourishes when people come together to share ideas and perspectives.

Collaboration with other people, different people can help us to change ourselves, to evolve and to be more creative. And here is why?

  • Diverse Perspectives and Ideas

Each person brings unique experiences, skills, and viewpoints. Each person has different background, culture and traditions, mindset and beliefs. If you are open to diversity , it trully unites. In an diversified societies, companies, etc. people are more creative just because the atmosphere itself enriches the creative process that could never be occured in isolation.

  • You learn from others

Collaboration allows individuals not only to learn from each other, but even take their strengths and experiences as your new paradigm. By interacting with people who have different skills and experiences, you can gain new knowledge and insights. This continuous learning can boost your creativity and reveals new tools, ideas, and ways of solving problems.

  • Increased Motivation and Engagement

Working with others can be energizing and inspiring, as team members encourage and support each other. But on the other side you should remember that there are people to whom it is challenging and energy consuming to collaborate all the time with others. They need time for thei solitude, so do not condemn them if they are not like you. Accept and lern fron them.

  • Enhanced Problem-Solving

Working together we can find new ways of solving tasks, problems, and creating new services, and products.

How to boost our Creativity?

Write It Down

Journaling or writing down your thoughts, ideas, and experiences can help to reveal your creativity and take you through your inner personal growth.

Therapeutic writing is my salvation and my biggest friend.

Make small notes every day concerning your feelings and emotions, reactions, and deeds. Write everything that disturbs you, annoys you, or challenges you in your notebook. Do not think about what you are writing, just write. You do it for yourself, not for other people or social media.

  • 🟡Where did you progress?

  • 🟡Where and what is very difficult and even challenging for you?

  • 🟡What irritates you?

  • 🟡What inspires you?

This is not a poem or novel, these are small notes about your inner state. Journaling will help you to understand yourself better and to see your shadows that in the future will be transferred into your light and opportunities.

Therapeutic writing can have a profound impact on your mental and emotional well-being.

How to boost our Creativity?

Change Your Scenery

Our environment matters. It deeply influences our creativity. When we spend too much time in the same surroundings, our minds, or behaviors, our reactions become the same and automatic, which kills creativity and forces you to think and live in a box, being trapped by your conditioned mind. That's why it is so important to change our scenery. New scenery broadens the horizons of your mindset and refreshes your mind.

So, changing your scenery is a powerful tool for enhancing creativity:

  • Shifting Perspectives for Fresh Ideas

Facing a new environment, you have new experiences, and these new experiences can boost new ideas, new visions, new thoughts, and understanding. It can help you break your habitual thinking patterns and encourage you to see things from a new perspective.

  • Reconnecting with Nature

Nature has a profound impact on our mental health, well-being, and creativity. A walk in the park, a hike in the mountains, or simply a contemplation of a lake/river/sea helps clear the mind and space for creativity.

  • Overcoming Creative Blocks

Creative blocks are often the result of mental fatigue and a monotonous routine environment. Changing your scenery can act as a reset button, helping you overcome these blocks.

  • Enhancing Social Interaction

Changing your scenery also often means communicating with new people. New people are all about diversity and that means facing new cultures, traditions, and viewpoints.

  • Embracing the Unknown

Stepping into the unknown environment requires you to adapt, think out of the box, and become more flexible, which can lead to unexpected creative breakthroughs.

How to boost our Creativity?

Limit Distractions

We are living in an era of distractions: notifications on mobile phones, social media, advertising, the Internet, etc. All these can on one side reveal our creativity and push it, but on the other side, these can divert us from ourselves, our authenticity, creativity, and our own goals in life.

What to do to limit distractions:

  • Create a special space for work and creativity, where nothing can distract you.

  • Block notifications on your mobile phone apps and silence the sound of the ring.

  • Limit Multitasking and make regular breaks.

By consistently limiting distractions, you can train your brain to focus more effectively and create the mental space necessary for creativity to flourish.
